The HSPR uses an H-type design made from nylon webbing. Friction adapters secure the harness around the load.

Two adjustable leg straps stabilize the pack against the parachutist during movement inside the aircraft, exit, and main-parachute deployment. Each leg strap includes the male portion of the leg-strap release assembly.

A single-point release assembly simultaneously releases the load and leg straps from the parachutist and parachute harness.
