Modular Sleep System | BDU

System Overview

The Modular Sleep System (MSS) combines sleeping bags and protective components that can be used together or separately. When configured appropriately and used with various layers of extreme-cold-weather clothing, the system is designed to provide comfort in temperatures ranging from 50°F to -50°F.

Included Components

• Black compression stuff sack
• BDU woodland-camouflage Gore-Tex bivy cover
• Green insulated patrol sleeping bag
• Black insulated intermediate sleeping bag

Construction and Storage

The waterproof bivy cover uses waterproof, moisture-vapor-permeable material with heat-sealed seams. The water-resistant compression sack has enough capacity for both sleeping bags and the bivy cover, and compresses the complete system to approximately one cubic foot.
